Home Helpers’ Gerding Joins Leadership of VetFran Strategic Initiative

December 11, 2018 // Franchising.com // CINCINNATI - Matt Gerding, vice president of franchise development at Home Helpers® Home Care, has been named to the leadership committee of VetFran. This strategic initiative of the International Franchise Association (IFA) exists to provide opportunities in franchising to veterans and their spouses through incentives, education and training. The goal of the organization to secure veteran access to the freedoms and opportunities they defended on behalf of our nation.

In helping to guide VetFran, Gerding hopes to attract more veterans to franchising and the Caring professions.

“We see in our own network the commitment to duty and service that vets and service families bring to the business world,” said Gerding. “Everyone benefits when service members have the opportunity to translate the private sector the qualities and skills they’ve shown while in uniform.”

Gerding’s VetFran role is an extension of Home Helpers’ commitment to veterans and military families over the past several years. In addition to serving veterans as clients, the network actively recruits vets and armed forces family members across the country as Caregivers, managers and franchise owners.

Earlier this year, Home Helpers was indicted into the Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP), by the Department of Defense. For more information on Home Helpers services and incentives for veterans and their families, visit https://www.homehelpershomecare.com/military/.

About VetFran

VetFran, a strategic initiative of the International Franchise Association, was born out of the desire to thank our veterans returning from the first Gulf War. Reborn and re-energized after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, VetFran’s ranks have grown to include more than 650 franchise systems that voluntarily offer financial incentives to veterans seeking to become franchise small-business owners. Through the VetFran program more than 6,500 servicemen and women have become franchisees and more are being added every month.
