Rusty Taco Celebrates Sunny Days with New Tropical Shrimp Taco and Pineapple Habanero Margarita

July 21, 2022 // Franchising.com // Rusty Taco is embracing warmer weather and bringing vacation vibes to their menu with two new items, the Tropical Shrimp Taco and Pineapple Habanero Margarita. Both new items feature sweet, refreshing pineapple to create the perfect summer pairing.

Building on the popularity of Rusty Taco’s existing shrimp taco, the new Tropical Shrimp Taco comes with crispy fried shrimp, a drizzle of Thai chili sauce, grilled pineapple relish, and slaw on a flour tortilla.

“My husband Rusty loved to go new places, and he loved to eat. He was often inspired by the flavors we experienced on our travels,” said Denise Fenton, Brand Director and Co-founder of Rusty Taco. “Our new tropical taco and refreshing pineapple margarita give our guests the feeling of being on vacation, without having to leave their neighborhoods.”

The Pineapple Habanero Margarita is the brand’s first infused margarita – habanero peppers are added to pineapple juice, and the mixture is infused for a minimum of 10 hours to provide the right amount of heat. For an extra kick, the drink is rimmed with Tajín® seasoning- a mix of ground red chilies, sea salt, and dehydrated lime juice.

“Summer is the perfect time to try new things, and the Pineapple Habanero Margarita is the first time we’ve offered an infused cocktail,” said Fenton. “Our culinary team is constantly exploring how to utilize new culinary trends, and we tested a lot of habanero pineapple juice to find the perfect blend of sweet and heat.”
