Slim Chickens Enters New Territory with Multi-Unit Deal in The Great Lakes
May 15, 2023 // Franchising.com // MICHIGAN - Slim Chickens announced today it has inked a deal to bring 25 locations throughout Southeast Michigan. Three friends and business partners, Brad and Todd DeLange and Doug Broadright of Slims Great Lakes, are spearheading the expansion deal bringing locations to several counties in the Detroit and Ann Arbor metropolitan area.
“We were drawn to the energy, inviting atmosphere and quality of Slim Chickens,” said Brad. Community is very important to us and though we are from Michigan, we had an immediate connection to the southern hospitality, and the food is top-notch. We are thrilled to bring the brand’s values and fresh flavors to Southeast Michigan.”
They were intrigued by the lack of chicken options in the area and discovered Slim Chickens. The brand immediately aligned with the operator’s values and goals to create an energetic and supportive place for people, families and employees.
“Brad, Todd, and Doug are ideal operators to extend Slims’ into Michigan. Their successful experience in operating multiple Jimmy John’s for over a decade proves their expertise,” said Jackie Lobdell, vice president of franchise development at Slim Chickens. “Also, the deep roots they have in the Michigan market and their compassion for the community will quickly make Slim Chickens a go-to mealtime destination.”
The brand prides itself on its cooked-to-order fresh food and strong devoted fanbase, also known as “Slimthusiasts.” Slim Chickens has distinguished itself in the industry by offering high-quality food and 17 house-made dipping sauces, allowing customers to enjoy a different flavor profile with each visit. Its menu is broader than many in the segment, offering chicken tenders, fresh salads, sandwiches, chicken and waffles, chicken wings and unique side items. Fans also resonate with the southern contemporary look and feel and open and inviting layout of Slim Chickens restaurants, which speak to the hospitality mindset that anchors the brand.
“We are thrilled for our partnership with Slims Great Lakes and for the opportunity to share our southern hospitality and cooked-to-order chicken tenders with communities throughout Michigan,” said Sam Rothschild, CMO of Slim Chickens.
