Scooter’s Coffee Continues Growing in Nebraska
Cousins Sign Agreement to Bring Coffee Shop to Their Hometown
September 08, 2023 // Franchising.com // OMAHA, Neb. - Scooter’s Coffee, LLC, the Midwest-based drive-thru coffee franchise experiencing record-breaking growth, continues its expansion throughout the United States by bringing its world-class drive-thru coffee locations to Cozad, Nebraska.
The expansion into the central Nebraska town of 4,000 people is the result of a franchise agreement signed by Drew Wetovick, his wife Nikki, and Drew’s cousin Colin Wetovick and his wife Juli. Drew and Colin are farmers, while their wives work together as surgical nurses.
“Living in Nebraska, we were all very familiar with Scooter’s Coffee. But we didn’t have one near us in Cozad. We didn’t have a coffee shop at all. So we reached out to Scooter’s, and they agreed to let us build a franchise here.”
Scooter’s Coffee, based in Omaha, specializes in artisan espresso drinks, fruit smoothies, baked-from-scratch pastries, and features its signature drink, the Caramelicious®. The company also recently added depth to its profile with a line of organic hot and iced teas, single-origin coffee, and Cold Brew & Cream.
According to the latest market trends compiled by the National Coffee Association, 60% of Americans drank coffee in the past day. And 28% of people reported purchasing coffee at a coffee shop or restaurant in the past day — a number that’s almost back to pre-pandemic levels. The drive-thru coffee model, already popular in our fast-paced society, boomed during the pandemic, giving customers a way to get a delicious beverage while staying socially distant. Scooter’s Coffee kiosks, with the Brand Promise of “Amazing People, Amazing Drinks… Amazingly Fast!®,” are helping Americans stay caffeinated and safe while providing high-quality products with a smile.
“There are a lot of younger people moving back to Cozad, and they are hungry for new business,” says Drew. “The city has been great to work with. We are glad we can bring employment opportunities to our hometown and are looking forward to becoming an integral part of the community.”
“The town of Cozad is definitely a fit for our brand,” says Matt Sawicki, Senior Director of Franchise Development. “We are excited to have the Wetovicks on board to help bring Scooter’s Coffee to their hometown.”
