Skyhawks Sports Academy Welcomes New Owner to Minnesota

October 05, 2023 // Franchising.com // Minneapolis, MN. - Skyhawks Sports Academy is thrilled to announce Minnesota-native, Jonathan Hanson as the owner of Skyhawks Minnesota. Hanson oversees eight territories based in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.

Skyhawks Sports Academy, powered by Stack Sports, offers more than 10 sports year-round across the country. They are a provider of safe, fun, and skill-based sports experiences for kids ages of 4 to 14, its primary purpose is to teach life skills through sports.

“Jonathan is an impressive franchisee who brings a detailed-oriented, strong work ethic to Skyhawks,” said Jason Frazier President of Skyhawks Sports Academy. “As a Minneapolis-native he has his finger on the pulse of the community and we’re looking forward to helping him grow the brand and offer the best youth program opportunities for children in the Twin Cities.”

Hanson’s lifelong passion for sports and youth empowerment is a perfect fit. Leveraging his bachelor’s degrees from nearby Bethel University, an MBA from Harvard Business School, as well as his local and international work experience is the perfect catalyst to drive innovation for youth sports in Minnesota. “I fell in love with the Skyhawks model,” Hanson said.”

With experience leading philanthropic strategy and active participation as an Impact Ventures Judge for the MN Cup, Hanson is committed to having an impact in the Twin Cities. He is looking to expand Skyhawks’ impact in the Twin Cities by creating affordable options for the undeserved youth in the community. Victoria Yang, Skyhawks Minnesota’s Director of Operations, states “We discuss affordability in each of our meetings with our partners. [Hanson] is rapidly growing our scholarship program. By next summer, we will be partnering with organizations all over the Twin Cities to offer hundreds, if not thousands, of scholarships. We are also launching STEM Sports programs this fall to teach kids about the science behind their favorite sports”
