Smalls Sliders® Officially Opens in West Monroe

Multi-Unit Operator Opens Second Location in Louisiana with Fast-Growing QSR Concept

November 13, 2023 // Franchising.com // WEST MONROE, La. – Smalls Sliders, the QSR sensation that is redefining the cheeseburger slider experience, announced today its newest location is set to open in West Monroe on November 16.

Featuring both drive-thru and walk-up ordering, the brand’s newest Can will be located at 406 Thomas Rd, in downtown West Monroe. The first 100 guests will be able to receive a pair of free slides in light of the celebration.

The Can will be owned by local entrepreneur, Chris McJunkins, a seasoned multi-brand operator with extensive experience in the restaurant industry. In addition to Smalls Sliders, McJunkins is a franchisee with Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, having opened the brand’s first franchised location in 2015. The Louisiana native also owns locations with Cantina Laredo and Windrush Grill, both popular destinations in the Shreveport community. Equipped to provide guests with exceptional customer service, McJunkins has plans to open several more Smalls Sliders locations in the coming years.

The West Monroe location is the second Smalls Sliders Can open under McJunkins’ five-unit development agreement. This opening comes on the heels of exciting momentum for the brand, having just recently surpassed 100 Cans under development in both new and existing markets across the Southern states.

Smalls Sliders opened its first restaurant in 2019 and has since grown to nine Cans throughout Louisiana, with over 100 locations already in the development pipeline. The restaurant has already garnered industry recognition, with QSR magazine featuring the brand in its “40/40 List for 2022: America's Hottest Startup Fast Casuals” and its 2023 QSR 50 Contenders list. Other accolades include Nation’s Restaurant News naming the brand as one of the publication’s “Breakout Brands of 2023,” in addition to ranking on this year’s Entrepreneur magazine “Top New & Emerging Franchises” list.
