America’s #1 Double Drive-Thru Brand Brings Bold Flavors and Affordable Convenience to South Carolina

November 28, 2023 // Franchising.com // CHARLESTON, S.C. - Start your engines, South Carolina – Checkers and Rally’s is on the fast lane to Charleston.

Checkers and Rally’s, the double drive-thru burger and fries’ brand, announced its new restaurant opening in Charleston. Conveniently situated at 2740 Ashley Phosphate Road, the location will be owned and operated by Shamsu Charania and his partner Ali Chunara, bringing a mouthwatering dining experience to the local community.

Charania has been in the franchising industry for more than 20 years with well-established brands like Dunkin Donuts, TGI Friday’s, Qdoba, and his largest and latest endeavor, Checkers and Rally’s. As massive multi-unit operators, Charania and Chunara currently own 60 Checkers and Rally’s locations, with Charleston being their latest opening.

The duo is also scheduled to open another location in Columbia, South Carolina later this year, which will introduce the iconic brand to a new market. The Charleston restaurant highlights the continued growth of the brand, with an updated prototype look and simplified operating model to better serve the community.
