Skyhawks Sports Academy Celebrates New Franchise Opening in San Diego

April 19, 2024 // Franchising.com // San Diego, CA - Skyhawks Sports Academy is thrilled to announce the opening of its newest franchise in San Diego, under the ownership of the dynamic husband-and-wife team of Allison and Garrett Wilson. This marks the couple's first venture into franchising, embracing the Skyhawks model of nurturing young athletes in a supportive, fun-filled environment.

Skyhawks provides a safe, fun, and skill-based sports experience for kids between the ages of 4 and 14. The main purpose of Skyhawks Sports Academy is to teach life skills through sports. Today they offer more than 12 sports year-round across the country for children.

Allison Wilson, transitioning from a successful 15-year career as a wedding photographer and author of a celebrated coffee table book capturing the West Coast, brings her entrepreneurial spirit and understanding of self-employment from her upbringing. "Growing up in a family of self-starters, I've always been driven by the desire to create something impactful,” Allison shared. “Finding Skyhawks was like discovering a perfect blend of my passion for community and sports."

Garrett Wilson, who played college basketball and comes from a family of distinguished athletes, including an NFL-playing father and uncle, has also navigated a career in the mortgage and sales sectors

"My path from college basketball to coaching has been driven by a deep appreciation for sports and the valuable lessons they teach,” said Garrett. “Skyhawks provides a unique space for children to enjoy sports without the intensity of excessive competition."

Together, the Wilsons are a testament to the synergy of passion and entrepreneurship. Marrying their love for sports with the desire to contribute positively to their community, they found Skyhawks Sports Academy.
