Love and fried chicken go together as well as the two people who built Daddy's Chicken Shack.

The original Southern California fast-casual chicken concept, crafted by renowned catering chef Pace Webb and her husband, entrepreneur Chris Georgalas, is ready to fly, primed for nationwide growth through franchising.

"Our brand's story is one of rich history, humble beginnings, and our consistent commitment to simple, high-quality ingredients that tastes like a warm hug feels," says Webb, who shared her dream for Daddy's Chicken Shack with Georgalas on their first date.

After lovingly perfecting the brand's classic fried chicken sandwich that Webb originated as the star dish for a Hollywood celebrity's party, the co-founders knew it was time to find a way to serve accessible and inspired creations to the chicken-loving public.

Daddy's Chicken Shack started at Smorgasburg, a bustling, weekly food festival in downtown Los Angeles. The pop-up restaurant was such a hit that Webb and Georgalas opened Daddy's Chicken Shack's first brick-and-mortar location in Pasadena, California, quickly attracting local notables such as Jay Leno, David Lee Roth, and Terry Crews.

Sales soared during the pandemic, fueled by a technology-focused approach that allows customers to engage with the brand in multiple ways.

A MOUTHWATERING MENU

Daddy's smartly developed American Southern "with a twist" menu is pure culinary magic, inspired by Pace's Texas upbringing and travels abroad and Chris' Asian heritage. The brand believes in simple, high-quality ingredients made with lots of love.  Decadent sandwiches like the Spicy Daddy with Sriracha and ginger mayo and Popcorn Chicken are made with hormone-free, antibiotic-free, and free-range chicken.  The birds are brined overnight in buttermilk and aromatics, then double battered before frying to crispy golden perfection—the result: a mouthwatering sensation in every bite.

In addition to sandwiches, the menu features chicken and waffles, Nashville tenders and sandwiches, fries, salads, and a complete breakfast offering with biscuits, burritos, and vegan options. A full line of in-house, freshly made sauces dress up the entire line-up.

As a chef-inspired fast-casual concept, delivered with QSR speed, Daddy's is dedicated to being the highest quality, a cut above the average chicken places. The brand has teamed up with the global architecture and design firm Harrison to design a restaurant for scale to deliver an exceptional culinary experience whether ordering online, from a mobile device, or in person.

"It's all about quality, convenience, speed, and accuracy -- whether dining in, ordering on the app and picking up, or getting delivery -- we've built our systems to execute the highest quality product no matter how the customer chooses to order," says Georgalas.  A new stand-alone prototype is being built in the Heights area of Houston, Texas, which will also serve as the national training center for franchisees.

AN INSPIRING FRANCHISE MODEL

When Webb and Georgalas decided franchising was the way to go, they looked to partner with one of franchising's best, Dave Liniger, the founder and chairman of RE/MAX.

"After building one of the largest and most iconic brands in franchising, I looked for a captivating concept to invest in that had the ability to be nationwide in short order," Liniger explains. "I fell in love with the concept and the founders, and I'm looking forward to building another iconic brand with Daddy's."

Daddy's is seeking to expand with individuals that want to own their own business with the full support and dedication of an experienced franchise team.

The company also designed a "Regional Developer" model for existing multi-unit franchise operators looking for a chicken concept for their portfolio that can take the market head-on.
